Doktor Marcin Połom jest specjalistą w zakresie geografii transportu, stopień doktora geografii w specjalności geografii transportu uzyskał w 2016 roku na Uniwersytecie Gdańskim. Na tej samej uczelni pracuje jako adiunkt. Jego zainteresowania badawcze dotyczą zrównoważonego rozwoju transportu, w szczególności elektromobilności w transporcie publicznym. Jest ekspertem w zakresie transportu trolejbusowego, z którym przez wiele lat związany był zawodowo w Przedsiębiorstwie Komunikacji Trolejbusowej w Gdyni. Obecnie realizuje badania porównawcze z zakresu zasadności rozwoju różnych środków elektrycznego transportu miejskiego. Jego najnowsze artykuły dotyczą polityk transportu publicznego w zakresie elektromobilności w Polsce i innych krajach postkomunistycznych Unii Europejskiej, a także społecznej percepcji rozwoju transportu zelektryfikowanego. Marcin Połom jest redaktorem naczelnym czasopisma Prace Komisji Geografii Komunikacji PTG, sekretarzem Komisji Geografii Komunikacji Polskiego Towarzystwa Geograficznego. Regularnie realizuje także prace na rzecz praktyki transportowej w różnych ośrodkach miejskich w Polsce. Jest autorem 120 publikacji naukowych.

Marcin Połom is a specialist in the field of transport geography, he defended his PhD in geography in the specialization of transport geography in 2016 at the University of Gdańsk. He works as an assistant professor at the same university. His research interests concern the sustainable development of transport, in particular electromobility in public transport. He is an expert in the field of trolleybus transport, with whom he was professionally associated for many years at the Trolleybus Transport Company in Gdynia. Currently, he conducts comparative research on the legitimacy of developing various means of electric urban transport. His latest articles concern public transport policies in the field of electromobility in Poland and other post-communist countries of the European Union, as well as the social perception of the development of electrified transport. Marcin Połom is the editor-in-chief of the journal Transport Geography Papers of the Polish Geographical Society, secretary of the Commission of Transport Geography of the Polish Geographical Society. He also regularly carries out work for the transport practice in various cities in Poland. He is the author of 120 scientific publications.
