Janne Rautio holds a MBA degree as well as Master’s degree in Sustainable energy Engineering. He also has done studies related to Sustainable Business Strategies and Circular Economy from leading institutions. His education has provided him with a solid foundation in environmental science, sustainability principles, and circular economy concepts.

Janne Rautio’s career began at Nalco Chemical Company in water treatment chemical business in Northern Skandinavia. After that he worked in semifinished plastics B2B trade at Vink Finland Oy, where he served as the Sales and Marketing Director and Executive Board Member for over 5 years. He led a nationwide team of B2B sales professionals, achieving steady growth in profits in a challenging market.

Currently, Janne Rautio serves as a Project Manager at Kiertotalouskeskus – Circular Economy Centre, where he oversees a study on the potential of hydrogen business in the Sea Lapland area, with a focus on SMEs and hydrogen’s feasibility and potential as a sustainable energy source in the context of circular economy, industrial applications, synthetic fuels, and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCU and CCUS). His role involves coordinating and managing all aspects of the project, from research and data analysis to report writing and presenting findings to stakeholders. Through this position, he has gained a deep understanding of the latest developments and trends in hydrogen technology, circular economy, and CCUS. His skills include expertise in sustainability, circular economy, and hydrogen.

As a professional in the field of industrial circular economy and sustainability, Janne Rautio has worked with a diverse range of industries, including but not limited to Pulp & Paper, Mining, Limestone, Steel, Concrete, Biogas, Fertilizers, Electronics, Hydrogen, Biochar, Plastics Recycling, and Infrastructure. He assists companies in finding ways to create value from their by-products or explore other circular economy-based methods for growing their business. His expertise also extends to Energy, Sustainability, Carbon Footprint, Climate, and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS).
